Requires at least: 2.0.2 (+ PHP5)
Tested up to: 2.1.3
This plugin allows you to incorporate a “smoothgallery” slide show of photos generated from a picasa web album in your wordpress posts.
== Description ==
This plugin makes it very simple to incorporate a slide show generated from a picasa web album in your wordpress posts.
Adding the slideshow is as simple as adding a custom field to a post. The slide show will incorporate the following information extracted from picasawebs feed:
* The name of the photo
* The description
* The camera that took the photo
* Number of comments on the photo
Rather than have multiple slide shows on a page any subsequent posts being displayed on the same page will show a static picture block. Clicking on the slideshow takes you to the picasaweb album.
== Installation ==
1. Upload `picashow.php` and the picashow folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Add a ‘picashow_url’ custom field to any post you want to include a slide show. Set the value of this field to the RSS field of your picasa web album.

= Does this plugin work with the Subscribe2 widget? =
Unfortunately the subscribe2 widget has a bug that stops it playing nicely with any plugins that utilize the “the_content” trigger. You can work around this bug using the hack here

Many thanks to Jonathan Schemoul (site) for the awesome SmoothGallery script.

It’s not working for me either. I get all the images from the feed stacked on top of each other (two of each) but no slideshow…

Steve,
This is a “killer” plugin. However, I can’t get it to work with Wordpress 2.2 either. It won’t even allow me to turn on the plugin. I get a “caused a fatal error” message and it closes without activating the plugin.
Any thoughts?

Steve,
Just updated to PHP5 and I still get the FATAL ERROR Plugin so Wordpress 2.2 doesn’t allow it to install as a plugin. Has anyone gotten this to work with 2.2? I’m trying to figure out if it’s a 2.2 issue and not a PHP.
Thanks,
J. Pisano
